  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream the Butter & Sugar:
    In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Add the Wet Ingredients:
    Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix the Dough:
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Shape the Cookies:
    Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Gently press each ball down slightly.
  • Optional – Add Sugar Topping:
    If desired, sprinkle the tops of the cookies with granulated sugar before baking.
