Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (16 oz) potato gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter option)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • ½ cup baby spinach (optional, for added freshness)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Gnocchi:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add the gnocchi and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-5 minutes or until they float to the top).
    • Drain and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Cream Sauce:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the Cheese & Seasonings:

    • Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
    • Let the sauce simmer for another 2 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Combine the Gnocchi & Sauce:

    • Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
    • If using, stir in baby spinach and let it wilt for 1 minute.
  • Serve & Garnish:

    • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
    • Serve immediately with garlic bread or a simple side salad.

Notes

  • Make it Healthier: Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream or swap butter for olive oil.
  • Protein Additions: Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or crispy bacon.
  • Storage & Reheating: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat with a splash of cream or milk to maintain creaminess.
